Go to Japanese

My first qso with my new call sign AF6FA during my US trip in March 2008.

1. My first AF6FA QSO
I obtained my US call sign AF6FA in October 2007 but had no chance since then. I brought Kenwood TH-F7, a 144 and 430MHz transceiver with me during my trip to the US on March, 2008. In prior, I checked repeater station call sign, shift frequency or tone frequency etc. information in the US. I found that those parameters of Japanese repeater station and the US repeater stations are often different.
I have listened several repeater stations in Boston but no activities were found. After moved to San Jose, on Friday morning I did found many stations roll calling at 145.23MHz. I could QSO with KR6DD on the frequency as my very first AF6FA QSO. He explained to me that his club (Palo Alto Amateur Radio Association) dose roll call every morning using Palo Alto club repeater station. He also said that the chair person (lady) is a frequent Japanese speaker. Although, he invited me to join club dinner and meeting of the day but unfortunately, I had an another appointment. I hope I may have a next time.

2. Boston subway
I stayed at Logan Airport Hilton so I used trolley bus and subway to commute. One time ticket cost $2 but weekly ticket was $15, why not purchase weekly. This was my first subway experience in Boston, since I always using rental car before.
Hybrid (trolley and engine driven) bus run between Airport and downtown area. Since this hybrid bus enter into subway tube, therefore, this bus is a part of Boston subway system and the line is called Silver Line.

Boston subway system consist of Silver Line, Orange Line, Red Line and Green Line. Interestingly, many passengers were walking across tracks on Green Line. Usually people never cross tracks but they do. Originally, Green Line should be a streetcar. There are variety of cars and systems mixed in Boston. I don't think Japan have similar system.

Passengers are walking across tracks. Passenger brought his dog into subway car.

3. America's oldest restaurant
Bar in Airport Hilton. Mussel and Beer as my usual dinner

America's oldest restaurant Union Oyster house. Unique sign at Star Buck Coffee shop

After returned home, I found a card (right photo) said that your luggage was inspected.
